E-learning examples
Here are some interesting e-learning examples that are publically available on the
web. Choose an example from the left column to see more information about it.
Seeing Statistics

Instructions:
- Click TOUR Seeing Statistics.
- Scroll to the outline at the bottom of the page.
- Click 0.2.3 Visual--Geometry of Statistics.
- Follow the directions to minimize the total area of the squares.
- Click Discovery and perform the experiments suggested.
- Click Applications to repeat the activities with data from several different fields.
- Click My Data and follow the instructions to perform the activity with data you supply.
What to notice:
- Visual display. Complex mathematical concepts (least squares method) are depicted visually rather than as mathematical formulas. Abstract concepts are rendered visually.
- Multiple examples. Learners see and can manipulate examples from different fields.
- Active exploration. Learners experiment with statistical concepts by manipulating parameters and entering data.
